Syd Kain
Managing Partner
Syd Kain brings more than a decade of award- winning Sales and Sales Management experience to Kain Management Group, which he founded in 2002. Syd has always enjoyed the challenge of building high-performance teams, and he knows firsthand that the key to success is finding and recruiting proven talent.
While leading Sales teams for the likes of Sprint, Prodigy Internet Inc. and Lanier Worldwide, Syd surrounded himself with bright team members and consistently achieved success. His experience extended across disciplines including the development of geographical territories, vertical channels and partnering strategies. He partnered with and sold to most of the Fortune 500 technology companies, including eBay, Yahoo!, Sun Microsystems and Cisco Systems.
Along the way, Syd has earned numerous awards for his sales and management achievements including President's Club recognition at Lanier and the prestigious Circle of Excellence award at Prodigy Internet.
Syd received his undergraduate degree from Loyola College in Maryland.

John Colasanto
Managing Partner
John Colasanto brings more than a decade of award winning Sales and Sales Management experience to Kain Management Group, which he joined as a partner in 2005.
John began his career in medical sales and moved in to technology in the late '90s. John has a track record of success leading sales teams in the software, managed services and telecom arenas. His wealth of contacts within the high tech industry makes him an asset to any hiring organization. He has experience building start up and large enterprise organizations at both the executive and individual contributor levels.
John takes a consultative approach to partnering with his clients. The goal is quality, not quantity when it comes to building an organization. John strives to always find candidates that are both a skill and culture fit within the hiring organization.
John received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Hampden-Sydney College and lives in Mill Valley, CA.

Chad Swanson
Managing Partner
Chad has had great success managing sales professionals and sales engineering personnel at Winstar Communications and Allied Riser Communications (ARC). He was able to bring together the right mix of personalities and experience within these organizations to allow his teams to propel themselves to the top of their rankings companywide year in and year out. In addition, he has sold in the enterprise space for Frontier Communications, Winstar Communications and Sprint. He was able to gain access to and leverage his relationships at all levels of the organizations to be successful in meeting his sales and revenue goals consistently; including President's Club at all four organizations he has been employed with. Some of the accounts he has supported include PG&E, Fireman's Fund Insurance, Kaiser, Virgin Group Macromedia, Adobe, and Wells Fargo.
His vast contacts make him an immense asset to the organization. He can pull from his infinite base of contacts to help find and place the appropriate candidates for Kain Management clientele.
Chad Swanson received his BS in Business Administration from Saint Mary's College of Moraga, CA. Chad lives in Walnut Creek, CA.

Mark Asay
Partner
Mark Asay brings two decades of experience selling global technology solutions and leading teams for AT&T, Equant and BT. Having worked abroad and on both coasts of the United States, he has supported organizations in nearly every industry sector with a wide variety of network-based IT solutions.
After obtaining a bachelor's degree in computer science, Mark's professional start began in the switch room of a busy L.A. Convention Center, where he ran operations literally from the ground floor up. It was this experience, seeing how all the technology pieces fit together in actual practice, that gives Mark a strong ability to evaluate complex client requirements and build support teams around those needs.
A collegiate swimmer, Mark still maintains an active lifestyle and enjoys keeping fit. He lives with his wife and daughters in Marin County, California.

Marc Nathan

Marc is experienced in intensively assisting technology-oriented companies with business strategy, capital acquisition, market development and revenue growth. He is the founder and CEO of Bulldog Financial (http://www.bulldogfinancial.com), a professional angel investment and venture consulting firm and has served as the Director of Entrepreneur Development at the Houston Technology Center (http://www.houstontech.org). Marc focuses on start up and early stage growth companies in diverse market sectors such as consumer electronics, enterprise software and Web 2.0/New Media. Marc is a frequent speaker and an active member of several investment and technology community organizations including the Houston Technology Center, Startup Houston, Houston Angel Network, Capital Factory, Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship, South by Southwest, RefreshHouston, Emerging Technology Council, NetSquared, BarCamp and the Houston Inventors Association.
A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Marc enjoys spending time with his wife, three daughters, and an English bulldog.

Ann Zylstra has a decade of recruiting experience, specializing in placing highly sought after talent in C-level, senior Sales, Sales Management and engineering positions within technology companies. Ann is well versed in the nuances of the fast-paced, competitive contract placement market as well as the carefully guided process of direct hire recruiting. Her experience includes contract recruiting and in-house experience with long established firms and start-ups. As Director of Recruiting and Human Resources for a Bay Area startup company, she was responsible for developing recruiting strategy, hiring and HR policies and procedures. Mike obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Advertising from Texas Tech University. Mike is also an avid musician often playing shows around the Houston area.
