Syd Kain

Managing Partner, New York Metro

Syd brings more than a decade of award- winning Sales and Sales Management experience to Kain Management Group, which he founded in 2002. Syd has always enjoyed the challenge of building high-performance teams, and he knows firsthand that the key to success is finding and recruiting proven talent.

While leading Sales teams for the likes of Sprint, Prodigy Internet Inc. and Lanier Worldwide, Syd surrounded himself with bright team members and consistently achieved success. His experience extended across disciplines including the development of geographical territories, vertical channels and partnering strategies. He partnered with and sold to most of the Fortune 500 technology companies, including eBay, Yahoo!, Sun/Oracle and Cisco Systems.

Syd received his undergraduate degree from Loyola University. 


John Colasanto

Managing Partner, San Francisco

John brings more than a decade of award winning Sales and Sales Management experience to Kain Management Group, which he joined as a partner in 2005.

John began his career in medical sales and moved in to technology in the late '90s. John has a track record of success leading sales teams in the software, managed services and telecom arenas. His wealth of contacts within the high tech industry makes him an asset to any hiring organization. He has experience building start up and large enterprise organizations at both the executive and individual contributor levels.

John takes a consultative approach to partnering with his clients. The goal is quality, not quantity when it comes to building an organization. John strives to always find candidates that are both a skill and culture fit within the hiring organization.


Chad Swanson

Managing Partner, Walnut Creek

Chad has had great success managing sales professionals and sales engineering personnel at Winstar Communications and Allied Riser Communications (ARC). He was able to bring together the right mix of personalities and experience within these organizations to allow his teams to propel themselves to the top of their rankings companywide year in and year out. In addition, he has sold in the enterprise space for FrontierGlobalCenter, Winstar Communications and e|Solutions (Sprint Hosting & Proserv Paranet Division). He was able to gain access to and leverage his relationships at all levels of the organizations to be successful in meeting his sales and revenue goals consistently; including President's Club at all four organizations he has been employed with. Some of the accounts he has supported include PG&E, Fireman's Fund Insurance, Kaiser, Virgin Mobile, Virgin America, Virgin Atlantic, Del Monte, Macromedia/Adobe, and Wells Fargo.

His vast contacts make him an immense asset to the organization. He can pull from his infinite base of contacts to help find and place the appropriate candidates for Kain Management clientele.

Chad earned his BS in Business from St. Mary's College in Moraga, CA, and lives with his daughter in Walnut Creek, CA.


Ann Zylstra

Partner, Walnut Creek

Ann Zylstra has a decade of recruiting experience, specializing in placing highly sought after talent in C-level, senior Sales, Sales Management and engineering positions within technology companies. Ann is well versed in the nuances of the fast-paced, competitive contract placement market as well as the carefully guided process of direct hire recruiting. Her experience includes contract recruiting and in-house experience with long established firms and start-ups. As Director of Recruiting and Human Resources for a Bay Area startup company, she was responsible for developing recruiting strategy, hiring and HR policies and procedures. Ann is personable, diligent and thorough, and conducts business with integrity and tenacity. She leverages all forms of networking, sourcing and social recruiting to identify and present exceptional candidates well suited to her clients' needs.

Ann is an avid cyclist and marathoner. She lives in the San Francisco East Bay with her two sons.


Andy Awad

Executive Recruiter, New York Metro

Andy joined Kain Management team in 2010, and is currently an Executive Technical Recruiter specializing in the placement of Virtualization, SaaS, Cloud Computing, Pre-Sales/Post-Sales Engineers & Storage Engineers.

Andy’s strongest point is his ability to build relationships and trust with a strong network of Engineering Professionals to help client companies quickly fill their critical hiring needs.
Andy’s technical background enables him to immerse him-self in your technology and hiring needs and stay focused on the target until results are achieved. He is a driver, he ramp up quickly, and he has a proven track record!

Andy is no stranger to recruiting, having spent 13+ years as a Technical Recruiter in the industry, which taught him the importance of understanding, determination, & dedication throughout the recruiting process.  These attributes are essential in bringing the right candidate and company together.


Michael Clark

Michael is an award winning sales professional with 17+ years at Fortune 500 companies including United Technologies and Lucent/Avaya.  Michael's strong point is his ability to build long lasting relationships with customers and IT professionals.  Michael is a Cisco Certified Sales Expert with a proven track record of exceeding sales goals.  He has managed teams of specialized engineers as a Project Manager for numerous large Department of Defense base expansions.  Michael's technical background enables him to understand a client's technology requirements and hiring needs until results are achieved.  Michael joined Kain Management Group in 2011, and is currently an Executive Technical Recruiter specializing in the placement of Saas, Data Center, and Pre-Sales/Post-sales. 


Ryan Egan

Recruiter, New York Metro

Ryan has been an award winning sales professional for 10 years in both the barter and recruiting industry.  Prior to joining Kain Management in 2010, Ryan had a 3 year run at Essex Companies where he ran a full desk and was one of the top producers.  Ryan has also won Rookie Of The Year, Rookie Of The Quarter, Top Sales Rep and Top Dog awards from Icon International, Magna Global Trading and GameShow24.  Ryan attended the University Of Connecticut on an ice hockey scholarship, and when not on the phone can often be seen at the Colony Grill enjoying a hot oil and pepperoni pizza.  Ryan lives in Stratford CT with his wife Christina and their son Connor.
